MORE ABOUT RUNNING IN AUGSBURG
The biggest running ground is the Siebentischwald to the south, with marked loops of three, five, and eight kilometers. Right along the water, routes follow the Wertachauen and the Lech to the Hochablass, whose historic waterworks is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The most popular lake loop is the roughly three-kilometer circuit around the Kuhsee; for something central and green, run through the Wittelsbacher Park by the Kongresshalle or Sheridanpark in Pfersee.
Groups meet in nearly every district — in the Lechviertel and Bismarckviertel, in Pfersee, Göggingen, Lechhausen, or Oberhausen. When it starts, where to meet, and what pace to expect are all listed in advance. Most meetups are free and beginner-friendly — all that matters is that you show up and run. Augsburg's appetite for running together shows in the M-Net Firmenlauf, which sold out its 14,000 spots shortly after registration opened in 2025.
Pick your meetup, grab a spot at the next event, and run along. The best part of running in Augsburg is the after-work loop along the Lech with people headed the same way — and winding down together afterward. Be there next time.
