Every year about 18,000 people from more than 1,000 companies close the series' season at B2Run Berlin in the Olympiastadion. The 2027 date is still to come – here's how the evening runs and how big teams organise it.

When the B2Run season ends, it ends in Berlin. In 2026 it began in April in Aachen and finished on Wednesday, 16 September, in the Olympiastadion – after 18 cities (Source: b2run.de, home page and press release Berlin 2026). About 18,000 participants from more than 1,000 companies ran the 5.7 kilometres around the stadium and into it (Source: b2run.de, press release Berlin 2026). The organiser hasn't named a date for 2027 yet: 2027 date to follow (as of 3 October 2026, Source: b2run.de). The last two editions both fell in the second half of September, on 18 September 2025 and 16 September 2026 (Source: b2run.de, press releases Berlin).
How team captain, five-person ranking and price tiers work at B2Run in general is explained in our overview B2Run 2027.

Two things stand out. First, Berlin is no longer growing in heads, but it is in companies: with the same number of participants, more than a hundred companies joined in 2026. Second, the same two people won both years, and both got faster. Tom Thurley ran for Kaufland in 2026, and for Vereinigte Lohnsteuerhilfe in 2025 (Source: b2run.de, report 2025 and press release 2026).
Berlin draws some very large company teams. In 2026 Siemens Energy fielded 629 participants, DB/VDES 545 and BASF Services Europe 300. Among companies with up to 1,000 staff, Flaconi led with 250; among small businesses, the Rotkreuz-Institut Berufsbildungswerk im DRK Berlin with 40 (Source: b2run.de, press release Berlin 2026). Holding a team of that size together is mainly a logistics job. What matters from the organiser's A-Z (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Berlin):
For everyone not racing for the title: the regular ticket works in any start block, walking included. Nordic walkers start from their own area in the last wave (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Berlin).
This is how the evening ran in 2026 (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Berlin):
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| 3:00 pm | Entry to the B2Run Village on the Olympischer Platz, info point opens |
| from 3:30 pm | DJ and host |
| from 4:00 pm | Warm-up and line-up on the Olympischer Platz |
| 4:30 pm | First start wave, six more every 15 minutes |
| approx. 4:50 pm | First finishers |
| 7:30 pm | Award ceremony and get-together in the village |
| 10:00 pm | End |
That makes Berlin an earlier start than Hamburg or Bremen, for example: in 2026 Hamburg started at 5 pm and Bremen at 6 pm (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Hamburg and Bremen). For many, that means leaving the office early on event day. The course loops around the Olympiastadion and, according to the organiser, is largely flat (Source: b2run.de, course Berlin). It ends with the run into the stadium, and because spectators in Berlin don't need a fan ticket, colleagues who aren't running can wait in the stands. Spectators' bags are checked at the stadium entrance (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Berlin).
There are changing areas but no showers, plus a free cloakroom (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Berlin).
The organiser explicitly recommends public transport (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Berlin):
If the 2027 date again falls in mid-September, preparation lands in the long, light evenings – good news for beginners. Start in June and you have a good three months for 5.7 kilometres – enough even with no running background. The key is making sure training survives the summer holidays. Put fixed sessions in the diary for July and August, and on hot days run in the morning or evening; tips for the heat are in Running in the heat.
Sticking with it alone is harder than in a group. In Berlin, many Lauftreffs (group runs) and run clubs meet at fixed times after work; you'll find an overview at Running in Berlin. If you're building a group at your company, it's a good place to see how others organise a regular loop.
Berlin has a second big team format: the Berliner Wasserbetriebe 5 x 5 km TEAM-Staffel (team relay) in the Tiergarten. There, the team doesn't run all at once; five people each run a 5 km loop in turn between the Chancellery, the Victory Column and Bellevue Palace, with a handover zone and team tents. It's organised by SCC EVENTS, and in 2026 it ran over three days in June (Source: berliner-teamstaffel.de). For teams who'd rather run into the stadium together, B2Run is the right format; if you're after the relay experience, everything is in our guide to the 5 x 5 km TEAM-Staffel Berlin.
And if 5.7 kilometres has given you a taste for more: the Berlin Half Marathon is an obvious next goal. All other races in the city are listed at running events in Berlin. Registration for the next B2Run opens on the official B2Run Berlin page as soon as the 2027 date is set.
