B2Run Freiburg 2027: corporate run into the Europa-Park Stadion

Measured by registrations, B2Run Freiburg is the biggest running event in the city: more than 14,500 people from 691 companies and institutions signed up for the 9th edition on 30 June 2026, about 2,500 more than the year before (source: b2run.de, Freiburg press release 2026). The course is a loop of roughly 5 kilometres around the Europa-Park Stadion, home of football club SC Freiburg, and it ends with a lap into the stadium. For many people it is their first race ever. This page is written for them: what happens on the evening, how to get there, and how to go from zero to five kilometres.

The 2027 date: still open

B2Run has not published a date for 2027 yet (as of 3 October 2026). b2run.de still shows the 2026 calendar plus a note that further locations will follow shortly (source: b2run.de, home page). Don't plan around "late June" either: the 2025 race took place on 27 May, the 2026 race on 30 June (source: b2run.de, Freiburg press releases 2025 and 2026). We will add the date here as soon as it is out.

For orientation, prices at the last edition were €27.90 (opening rate), €29.90 (early bird) and €32.90 (standard), each plus VAT. The first two tiers sold out in 2026 (source: b2run.de, Freiburg A–Z). Tiers change when a quota is sold, not on fixed dates. How registration via a team captain works and how team scoring is calculated is covered in our B2Run 2027 overview. In short: one person at your company books the places, everyone else signs up through a link. You don't need an employer, though: B2Run accepts individual runners and private teams (source: b2run.de, Freiburg A–Z).

Who ran in 2026

The biggest team came from the University Medical Center Freiburg with 700 starters. Hekatron Technik GmbH led the mid-size category with 145, and Dehmer & Partner the small-business category with 54 (source: b2run.de, Freiburg press release 2026). The Fraunhofer Institute for Mechanics of Materials IWM took part for the first time with 47 runners and about 15 colleagues who came only to cheer. That sums up the Freiburg evening: not everyone has to run for the team to get something out of it.

At the front it was fast all the same. Jonas Weschle (solares bauen) won in 14:46 minutes, the fastest woman was Sophia Sommer (Lebenshilfe Breisgau) in 18:21. The team rankings went to the City of Freiburg (men), Pfizer Freiburg (women) and the University of Freiburg (mixed) (source: b2run.de, Freiburg press release 2026). The 2026 race started in high-summer heat; Mayor Martin Horn sent the first wave off at 6 pm.

The evening, hour by hour

This was the 2026 schedule. It is the best guide until B2Run publishes the 2027 timetable.

Time What happens
from 3 pm Your bib counts as a ticket on RVF public transport
4 pm B2Run Village, info point and bag drop open
from 4:30 pm DJ and host in the village
from 5:30 pm Warm-up and lining up on Suwonallee
6 pm First wave, six more follow every 15 minutes
8:30 pm Awards and get-together in the village
9 pm After-run party in the stadium's VIP areas
10 pm Outdoor programme ends
1 am After-run party ends

With seven start times, an hour and a half separates the first and the last wave. If your team wants to run together, line up together in one wave: slower runners towards the back, ambitious ones towards the front, and no more than two abreast on the first half kilometre (source: b2run.de, Freiburg A–Z, running etiquette). Nordic walkers start in their own block in the last wave; walkers without poles may join any wave.

Getting there: bike, tram or S-Bahn

The bike is the easiest option: there were about 3,700 bike parking spaces at the stadium in 2026 (source: b2run.de, Freiburg A–Z). By bus, tram or S-Bahn, get off at the Europa-Park Stadion stop. On race day the regional transport association RVF accepted the bib for one return trip, from 3 pm at the earliest.

Driving is tight. Car parks P4 and P5 had a limited number of spaces at €7, bookable only in advance in the B2Run shop. Without a ticket there was no parking on site; access is via Suwonallee (source: b2run.de, Freiburg A–Z).

On site: bag drop, showers, drinks

Team captains collect the bibs; in 2026 that was on 23 and 24 June at the Decathlon store on Kaiser-Joseph-Straße 165. For a fee they can also be shipped via UPS (source: b2run.de, Freiburg A–Z).

The course: one flat loop around the stadium

According to the organiser, the loop is varied and largely flat (source: b2run.de, Freiburg course). B2Run gives no exact distance or elevation profile, only "about 5 km". For you that means there is no hill to dread. The real challenge is the crowd at the start and the pace you set in the first-minute excitement. Run the first kilometre deliberately slower and you will still have something left for the sprint past the stands.

From zero to five kilometres by summer

Most people can run five kilometres non-stop after eight to twelve weeks of three short sessions a week. At B2Run you don't even have to run the whole way: walking is explicitly allowed (source: b2run.de, Freiburg A–Z). A framework to plan backwards from race day once the date is set:

With an early-summer race date, the first weeks fall in spring and the last ones often in warm evenings. Do some runs at the early-evening start time so the warmth on race day doesn't surprise you. How to start without overdoing it is covered in our article on getting started with running.

Sticking with it is harder alone than with fixed dates. Freiburg has Lauftreffs (group runs) and run clubs that meet after work and welcome newcomers; find them under running in Freiburg. If you want a short test race beforehand, check the running events in Freiburg. And if B2Run gives you a taste for more: the Mein Freiburg Marathon takes place on 4 April 2027, with a half marathon and 10 km at the Freiburg trade fair grounds (source: fwtm.freiburg.de). Another B2Run in the region with a stadium finish is B2Run Karlsruhe at the Wildpark.
