M-net Firmenlauf Augsburg 2027: Date, Teams and Registration

The 16th M-net Firmenlauf Augsburg (company run) takes place on Thursday, 10 June 2027, with start and finish at Messe Augsburg, the city's exhibition centre (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, schedule). That moves the event into June – the 15th edition was held on 19 May 2026 (source: b4bschwaben.de, 2026 winners). The most important date for you comes earlier, though: team registration opens on Tuesday, 16 March 2027, at 11 am – and the first places are cheaper than the later ones.

Four people make a team – no company required

What sets the Augsburg company run apart is written in its ranking rules: a team always consists of exactly four people, and they don't have to come from one company. According to the organiser, a team can belong to a company, a public authority, a club, a university faculty, an association, a Stammtisch (regulars' table) or a walking group (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, rankings). Each person runs for one team only, and the team name has to be spelled identically at registration, otherwise you won't be grouped together in the results (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, rankings).

For your running group, that means you can enter as a Lauftreff (group run) in teams of four and compete in the team rankings. That isn't a given at big company runs – at the JPMorganChase Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt, for example, club members can't form a team. Solo entrants appear in the overall results (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, rankings). The minimum age is 16 (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, FAQ).

The top three teams are honoured in the women's, men's and mixed categories (a mixed team needs at least one woman), plus the fastest women and men individually (gross time, first wave). There are also prizes for the company with the most participants and for the most original team outfit (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, rankings). Everyone gets a finisher medal and a downloadable certificate.

Dressing up is part of the scoring

The costume award isn't a side joke in Augsburg. The organiser says itself that athletic performance isn't always the main thing – creative ideas count too – and honours the team with the most original costumes with prizes (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, costume award). If your group isn't fighting for seconds, this is the category you can win. Keep the June evening in mind: light fabrics and something you can wear for 5.3 km beat a full-body suit.

The countdown to 10 June

Registration goes through a team captain, who signs up the company or group on the registration portal (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, registration). That gives you this timeline (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, registration and team captain duties):

Date What to do
Tuesday, 16 March 2027, 11 am Registration opens: team captain books places and teams
within 14 days of booking Pay the invoice, which is generated at booking
Thursday, 20 May 2027 Last day to enter all runners' names
Tuesday, 1 June 2027 Race packs collected for the whole group
Thursday, 10 June 2027 16th M-net Firmenlauf Augsburg

Race packs are only issued for paid places. On price: according to the FAQ, the first 2,000 places cost €25 plus VAT per person, from runner 2,001 it's €29 plus VAT; the virtual run costs €15 plus VAT (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, FAQ). That includes a personalised bib with timing tag and a goodie bag from the sponsors. So if you're the team captain, it pays to be at your computer just before 11 am on 16 March and add the names later.

The loop: short, paved, not quite flat

The course is a 5.3 km loop through the university quarter (Univiertel) and the residential area of Göggingen, starting and finishing at the Messe (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, course). According to the organiser, the paths are well surfaced and fully paved, the course is car-free and wheelchair accessible. It isn't completely flat: the organiser mentions a few gentle inclines (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, course).

For your pacing: take the first half a little easier than the starting crush makes you feel like. Gentle rises on a 5K course cost little if you stay relaxed, but a lot if you hit them with your heart rate already high. If you currently run 3 or 4 km, two or three runs a week from registration day in March will get you comfortably to 5.3 km – that's almost three months before race day.

The evening at the Messe

The company run is an after-work event with a stage programme. The 2027 schedule (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, schedule):

Time Programme
17:00 Programme begins
17:30 Charity projects presented
17:50 Open-air concert, part 1
18:30 1st wave
19:00 2nd wave
20:00 Concert, part 2
20:30 Award ceremonies
21:15 Concert, part 3
23:00 End

After the race, everyone celebrates on the forecourt of the Messe with the award ceremony and a live concert by the band "SM!LE"; drinks and food are available from the caterer in front of the stage (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, party). Two things to plan for: there is free bag storage, but not for large bags, and there are no showers for this many participants (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, FAQ). Pack a towel and a dry shirt in a small bag.

Getting there: tram 3, RB77 or parking at WWK Arena

The Messe is at Am Messezentrum 5. Take tram line 3 to Bukowina Institut/PCI, or the RB77 regional train to the Messe stop (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, directions and parking). There are 1,200 free parking spaces at the exhibition grounds and another 1,500 at WWK Arena with a free shuttle to the Messe. Bike parking is east of the "Am Messezentrum" turning loop (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, directions and parking).

Looking back: the 15th edition on 19 May 2026

According to the organiser, 14,000 participants took part in two waves (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, home page). Local business outlet b4b Schwaben reports that this figure includes participants in the virtual run via the viRACE app (source: b4bschwaben.de, 2026 report). It stayed dry (source: b4bschwaben.de, 2026 report).

Maximilian Berger (Absolute Run Augsburg Fast Men) won the men's race in 15:39, Magdalena Mayer (Timeless Planet) the women's in 18:58. The team rankings went to Absolute Run Augsburg Fast Men, Timeless Planet 1 and, in the mixed category, Team Tierhold. The largest company contingent came from Everllence with 974 people, ahead of Kuka with 513 and LEW with 350 (source: b4bschwaben.de, 2026 winners). Two running-group teams at the top show how open the format is to clubs and group runs.

Part of the entry fee goes to social projects every year. In 2026 that came to €14,645 for five projects in Augsburg, including DLRG swimming lessons for adults and the University of Augsburg's sports outreach project (source: m-net-firmenlauf-augsburg.de, charity).

Taking your running group

If you want to enter as a Lauftreff, decide by March who runs in which foursome: a fast team for the rankings, a mixed team with at least one woman, and a team in charge of the costume. One fixed weekly session is enough for everyone to cover 5.3 km without walking. If you don't have a group yet, you'll find one at running in Augsburg. What else Augsburg has on through the year, from the half marathon in the Siebentischwald forest to the night run at Kuhsee lake, is in our Augsburg race calendar.

If you want the company-run format on a bigger scale, look to the neighbouring region: more than 30,000 people started at B2Run Munich in the Olympic Park in 2026 (source: b2run.de, Munich).
