More than 63,000 people, 5.6 kilometres, one evening in June: Frankfurt's biggest company run is open to company teams only. Who can enter, how registration works and what to expect on the course.

On Wednesday, 3 June 2026, more than 63,000 people from over 2,300 companies ran through central Frankfurt at the JPMorganChase Corporate Challenge (source: hessenschau.de, 2026 report). It was the 32nd Frankfurt edition – the series has come here every year since 1993 – and according to Hessian public broadcaster hr, Frankfurt is the largest stop in the international series (source: hessenschau.de; jpmorganchasecc.com, news). If you want to be part of it in 2027, you need one thing above all: an employer who enters a team. Here, your place on the start line depends not on your pace but on your employment contract.
The 2027 date has not been published yet (as of 3 October 2026). For orientation: in 2026 it was the first Wednesday in June, starting at 7 pm at Opernplatz (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, Frankfurt).
The Corporate Challenge has stricter rules than most company runs (Firmenläufe), and they are the reason many runners from Frankfurt running groups only know it from the sidelines. According to the rules (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, rules and safety):
In practice: you cannot enter with your running group as a team, and as a freelancer working for a company you cannot run in its team either. If you want a company-run atmosphere with your Lauftreff (group run), other formats are more open. At B2Run Frankfurt, for example, individual entrants are welcome, the finish is inside the Deutsche Bank Park stadium rather than downtown, and 3,400 people from 209 companies took part in 2026 (source: lifepr.de, B2Run Frankfurt 2026 press release). How the B2Run series works overall is covered in our B2Run 2027 overview.
Registration works in two steps. First a team captain creates the company team, plans the post-race celebration and hands out the race packs. Then every participant registers individually via the link the captain sends out, or by searching for the company name in the dashboard (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, get started and FAQ). Note: the team captain is not registered automatically and has to sign up as a participant separately (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, FAQ).
In 2026 the entry fee was €38 per person (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, Frankfurt). The company pays, not you: it receives an invoice after registration closes. Fees are not refunded (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, FAQ). Bibs are sent by express to the team captain, with shipping depending on team size: €7 for 4–25 people, €17 up to 100, €32 up to 500 and €47 above that (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, FAQ). In 2026 registration closed on 4 May at 6 pm, roughly a month before race day (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, news "running for a good cause").
If your company doesn't have a team yet, winter is the time to get one going. A team only needs four people, and if you ask in spring, the May deadline is still comfortably ahead.
The course is 5.6 km long and runs through the city centre. In 2026 the start areas were on Große Gallusstraße/Roßmarkt and Neue Mainzer Straße, with the finish on Senckenberganlage. There is a drinks station at km 3.5, reachable from both sides of the road (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, the event). The course is flat (source: hdsports.at, 2026 results).
To keep that many people from getting in each other's way, the field starts in waves by bib colour. The 2026 schedule (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, the event):
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| 16:00 | Music and commentary at Opernplatz |
| 17:30 | Line-up in the start areas |
| 19:00 | Start red, green and blue |
| 19:16 | First finishers expected |
| 19:25 | Start purple |
| 19:30 | Award ceremony |
| 19:45 | Start yellow |
| 21:30 | Course closes |
You start in the area that matches your bib colour and may not move to an area closer to the start line (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, rules and safety). To get an official time, you have 1 hour 10 minutes after the start line closes. That is enough for walking, and walkers are explicitly welcome (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, FAQ and rules).
The numbers sound abstract; on the street they feel very concrete. A few things that follow from them:
Time isn't the goal here – finishing together is. The 2026 winners, Moges Dargie Mengesha in 16:06 and Nina Reuter in 18:01, ran their own race up front (source: hessenschau.de; hdsports.at). If you are in a later wave, you'll run the first kilometres in a dense crowd. Treat the 5.6 km as an evening run with colleagues, not a PB attempt. A fast 5K is better done at one of the smaller events in our Frankfurt race calendar.
There's more than an hour between line-up and start. Line-up begins at 5:30 pm, the first wave goes at 7 pm, the last at 7:45 pm. Bring a layer you can hand to a colleague before the gun, and drink enough beforehand – the only station is at km 3.5.
Leave the headphones at home. The organiser strongly advises against them (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, rules and safety). In a crowd this dense, it's nicer to hear the music and the people along the course anyway.
No strollers, dogs or poles. Running buggies, prams, bikes, skates, Nordic walking poles and animals other than service animals are banned from the course (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, rules and FAQ). If your family is coming, arrange to meet at the finish.
Wear your bib properly. It goes on your chest and must not be folded, because the timing chip is on the back. The back also holds your medical details – fill them in (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, the event).
Streets in the centre are closed for the evening; according to hr, around 4,500 metres of barriers went up in 2026 (source: hessenschau.de). The organiser recommends the U-Bahn or S-Bahn; the nearest stations are Taunusanlage and Alte Oper (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, the event). In 2026 an RMV (regional transport) day ticket cost €4.65, valid only together with your bib (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, FAQ).
After the race, teams celebrate in the city's parks and green spaces. Companies can book a PartyPoint through the organiser, with food, drinks, equipment and power on site; it is invoiced after the booking deadline (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, PartyPoint). Bookings for 2026 are closed. If you're organising the team, agree on a meeting point beforehand – with 63,000 people, you won't bump into each other by chance at Senckenberganlage.
Part of the evening is for a good cause: in 2026 the Frankfurt Corporate Challenge supported the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation Germany and the German Disabled Sports Youth (Deutsche Behindertensportjugend) (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, Frankfurt). The partnership with the latter has run for twelve years and, according to the organiser, has reached more than 8,000 children and young people at over 270 events (source: jpmorganchasecc.com, news "running for a good cause").
For many people, the Corporate Challenge is their first time on a road with a bib. 5.6 km is a good distance for that: long enough to be proud of, short enough to manage without walking breaks after a few weeks of training. Once your team is set in spring, a fixed weekly slot to run together pays off – after work along the Main, for instance.
And if the June evening has given you a taste for more: Frankfurt has running groups and run clubs that meet all year round, not just once in June. You'll find an overview at running in Frankfurt. Looking for a bigger goal afterwards? The Frankfurt Marathon is on your doorstep in autumn, and the Frankfurt Half Marathon comes as early as March.
