20,600 people, ten start waves and a finish inside the Max-Morlock-Stadion: B2Run Nuremberg grows every year. Here's what defines the 6.1 km around the Dutzendteich lake, and how your team can compete in "Die Fittesten".

On Tuesday, 21 July 2026, 20,600 people from more than 660 companies ran once around the Dutzendteich lake and into the Max-Morlock-Stadion at the 14th B2Run Nuremberg – more than ever before (Source: b2run.de, Nuremberg press release 2026). Demand was so high that the organiser added two extra start waves. B2Run hasn't announced the 2027 date yet (as of 3 October 2026). What you can plan now is the team – and in Nuremberg, that's about more than finishing times.
| Known from 2026 | Still open for 2027 |

The 2026 edition was on a Tuesday, six days after B2Run Munich (Source: b2run.de, home page). We deliberately don't project a 2027 date from that.
The organiser describes the 6.1 kilometres as varied and largely flat (Source: b2run.de, Nuremberg course). The 2026 course map shows where you still need to pay attention (Source: b2run.de, Nuremberg course map 2026):
The start is between the Zeppelinfeld grounds and the stadium's north entrance. The first kilometre heads north towards Seumestraße, then the course turns onto the northern shore of the Dutzendteich. At the corner with Schultheißallee, the map marks tree roots on the path – easy to miss in a dense field. Along the western shore the route heads south, with the drinks station between km 2 and km 3.
Between km 2.5 and just past km 3 comes the section that's different from the rest: the course winds through the Volkspark Dutzendteich around the small ponds, and the map shows gravel path twice. That's also where the photo points are. Then it's east along Alfred-Hensel-Weg (km 4), back via Große Straße and along Hermann-Böhm-Straße towards the stadium (km 5). Just before the end, a slight descent leads into the stadium, and the final stretch is on the inside.
For your race, that means: on the gravel around km 3, run steadily rather than overtaking, and save your push for Hermann-Böhm-Straße, when the stadium is already in sight. For wheelchair users, the different surfaces as well as inclines and descents are marked on the map, and accessible toilets are at the Marathontor Nord gate (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Nuremberg).
In 2025, eight start waves were enough; in 2026 there were ten (Source: b2run.de, Nuremberg press release 2026). Site manager Lucas Del Din puts this down to participant numbers rising steadily since the Covid pandemic. For the evening, that means: warm-up and lining up start at 5 pm on Max-Morlock-Platz in front of the fan shop, the first wave goes at 5:30 pm, and the next follows every 15 minutes (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Nuremberg).
If you're quick, book a "Durchstarter" (fast starter) ticket. Durchstarter run in the first wave from their own front block. The organiser recommends it only for men under 4 and women under 5 minutes per kilometre (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Nuremberg). For context: in 2026, Brian Weisheit of uniVersa won the men's race in 17:38 minutes and Vanessa Aberham of the town of Roth the women's in 21:03. ZW Lauf Coaching took the mixed team ranking (Source: b2run.de, Nuremberg press release 2026). Walkers without poles start with the regular ticket in any wave; Nordic walkers only in their own block in the last wave.
Few teams in Nuremberg are really chasing the fastest team time. For most companies, the second ranking is the more realistic goal: "Die Fittesten" (The Fittest), meaning the biggest teams. It's scored by company size, in the categories corporation (more than 1,000 employees), company (251 to 1,000) and SME (fewer than 250) (Source: b2run.de, Die Fittesten Nuremberg 2026). How the series works in general – registration via a team captain, the team ranking – is explained in our overview of the B2Run series 2027.
Here's what the top looked like in 2026 (Source: b2run.de, Nuremberg press release 2026):
| Category | Winner 2026 |
|---|---|
| Fittest corporation | Siemens with 1,893 participants, ahead of Siemens Energy (1,663) and Datev eG (817) |
| Fittest company | Faber-Castell AG |
| Fittest SME | KryoBank Erlangen GmbH |
| Biggest charity team | Leistritz with 100 charity starters (out of 712 in total) |
(Charity team: b2run.de, Die Fittesten Nuremberg 2026)
Among the corporations, the top two were only just over 200 people apart. For company and SME, B2Run doesn't publish participant numbers – but there, what matters even more is who mobilises best internally. What helps:
On event day, your bib gets you free travel from 12 noon in fare zones 100 and 200 (Nuremberg, Fürth, Stein) (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Nuremberg). The quickest option is the S3 from the main station towards Altdorf to "Frankenstadion", about five minutes' walk from there. Trams 6 and 8 stop at Doku-Zentrum and Dutzendteich (line 10 too), about 15 minutes away on foot. Bus lines 44, 55 and 65 also serve the stadium.
By car: there's free parking around the stadium, but some access roads are closed for the event. The organiser suggests the trade-fair car park on Große Straße for €5, and in 2026 there was also a bookable quota in car park S5 (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Nuremberg).
Unlike in Munich, spectators in Nuremberg need a ticket for the event area too. Fan tickets are sold in advance in the B2Run shop or on the day at the info point, card only (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Nuremberg). The info point – an orange pavilion on Karl-Steigelmann-Straße towards the north entrance – opens at 4 pm along with the grounds and sells last-minute tickets until 30 minutes before the start.
At 8:30 pm, the awards and get-together start in the B2Run Village inside the stadium, and the after-run party kicks off at the same time in the Center Lounge. The Village closes at 10 pm, the party runs until midnight, and you can only pay there with food and drink vouchers (Source: b2run.de, A-Z Nuremberg). There are no showers or changing rooms for regular participants; only those who book one of the VIP boxes can use the stadium showers.
Six kilometres after work is very doable if you run it regularly for a few weeks – ideally at the time of day the event starts. If your company doesn't have a running group yet, you'll find open Lauftreffs (group runs) in the city under Running in Nuremberg. All other races across the Nuremberg year, from the winter series to the New Year's Eve run, are on running events in Nuremberg.
If B2Run leaves you wanting more than six kilometres, the Sparkassen Metropolmarathon is the city's big running goal. And to see how B2Run works with more than 30,000 people in the Olympiapark, read our guide to B2Run Munich.
