B2Run Stuttgart 2027: NeckarPark, MHP Arena and summer heat

At B2Run Stuttgart 2026, the weather service forecast 30 degrees for the start. What that means for a corporate run in July, how the course runs through the NeckarPark and how it differs from the AOK corporate run. The 2027 date is still to come.

B2Run Stuttgart 2027: NeckarPark, MHP Arena and summer heat

On 7 July 2026 at 6:30 pm, for the first wave of B2Run Stuttgart, Germany's weather service DWD forecast around 30 °C. The organiser added water stations and set up a runner shower on the course (source: b2run.de, Stuttgart event info 2026). Around 7,000 people from 335 companies still ran through the NeckarPark to the finish inside the MHP Arena (source: b2run.de, Stuttgart press release 2026). A corporate run in early July in Bad Cannstatt is a summer race, and planning it as one makes for a better evening.

When it gets hot: what applied in 2026

There is no date for 2027 yet (as of 3 October 2026, source: b2run.de, home page). The last editions were on 5 August 2025 and 7 July 2026 (source: b2run.de, Stuttgart press releases), both in midsummer. How seriously B2Run takes heat shows at another stop: B2Run Koblenz was cancelled in 2026 because of the heat (source: b2run.de, Koblenz). In Stuttgart the race went ahead, with changes:

Running in the heat without fading

Five kilometres is short, but at 30 °C even a short course feels long. These points help whether you are racing for the win or walking with colleagues:

Drink through the day, not just at the start. Starting at 6:30 pm means a working day behind you, often with too little water. The organiser explicitly advised drinking enough throughout the day (source: b2run.de, Stuttgart event info 2026). A big glass of water with every meal and a bottle on your desk is an easy plan.

Hat, light clothing, sunscreen. That was in the organiser's advice. Matching company shirts are nice, but if they are heavy cotton, pick a light technical shirt instead.

Take the first half deliberately slower. In the crush of the first wave, many people start too fast, and in the heat that backfires sooner than usual. For the first 2.5 kilometres up to the first water station, aim for a pace at which you can still talk.

Train at start time in July. If you only run in the cool mornings in the weeks before, race day will surprise you. Run once or twice a week in the early evening, short and easy, so your body adapts to the warmth. More on training in high temperatures and spotting overheating in our article on running in the heat.

Together rather than alone. Fixed group dates help you get out even on hot evenings, and in a group people look out for each other. Stuttgart has Lauftreffs (group runs) and run clubs that meet after work; see running in Stuttgart.

The 2026 winning times were slower than the year before: Marc Steinsberger (Convensis) won in 15:04 minutes in 2026, compared with 14:09 in 2025; Marlena Götza (Vetter & Höhne / Running Crew) won in 17:26 in 2026 and 17:08 in 2025 (source: b2run.de, Stuttgart press releases 2025 and 2026). The organiser doesn't say why. Either way, last year's time is the wrong yardstick on a hot evening.

The course: through the NeckarPark to the Cannstatt end

The roughly 5 kilometres run through the NeckarPark in Bad Cannstatt, on a loop the organiser describes as largely flat (source: b2run.de, Stuttgart course). In 2026, warm-up and lining up were on car park P9 from 6 pm, with four waves starting every 15 minutes from 6:30 pm (source: b2run.de, A–Z and March 2026 press release). The finish is inside the MHP Arena, home of VfB Stuttgart: in 2026 the final metres led up to the Cannstatter Kurve, the home fans' end (source: b2run.de, Stuttgart press release 2026).

By Stuttgart standards it is an unusually flat loop. If you normally train on the city's hills, nothing here slows you down, and you can save your energy for the run into the stadium.

In 2024 B2Run Stuttgart celebrated its 10th edition; in 2025 its 11th edition was also the 200th B2Run of the whole series (source: b2run.de, press releases 2024 and 2025). TeamViewer Germany GmbH topped its category with 100 people in all three years. The 2026 team rankings went to Vetter & Höhne / Running Crew for men and women and to Convensis GmbH in the mixed category (source: b2run.de, Stuttgart press release 2026). How registration and scoring work at B2Run in general is covered in our B2Run 2027 overview.

B2Run or the AOK corporate run?

Stuttgart has two big corporate runs close together. The AOK Firmenlauf Stuttgart took place six days before B2Run in 2026, on 1 July at 6:30 pm at the GAZi-Stadion on the Waldau in Degerloch, with around 6,000 participants (source: stuttgart.bw-running.de). The main difference is the setting: up on the Waldau plateau for the AOK race, down by the Neckar with a stadium finish in the MHP Arena for B2Run.

2026 prices: €30.90, €33.90 or €36.90 plus VAT, depending on which quota was still open (source: b2run.de, Stuttgart A–Z). For other races in Stuttgart's year, see running events in Stuttgart. If you want a longer race before summer: the Stuttgart-Lauf takes place on 5 and 6 June 2027 (source: stuttgart-lauf.de). For a spring B2Run without heat risk in the region, look at B2Run Karlsruhe.
